Pete Lupo will update the group on the latest Board compensation and governance topics and issues facing Boards. He will discuss real-life examples of how Compensation Committees handled these issues and the implications from an institutional shareholder and proxy advisory firm perspective. As he has done many times in the past, Pete will encourage the NACD Chapter meeting participants to share their views and experiences on these topics.
Senior Managing Director and Atlantic Region Head, Pearl Meyer
Pete Lupo is a senior managing director and head of the Atlantic Region. Pete has worked extensively with compensation committees and management teams helping them align their executive compensation programs to their near and long-term business and leadership strategies while ensuring the program designs are not unduly influenced by perverse proxy advisory policies that can weaken this alignment. Pete also stresses the importance of designing a practical communications approach – externally with shareholders and proxy advisory firms and internally with senior executives – so that all stakeholders understand how the program design effectively links pay and performance.
In addition to his client and regional responsibilities, Pete also manages the firm’s National Services Group which includes experts in talent management, leadership assessment, and communications. Before joining Pearl Meyer, Pete held the national compensation practice leader role with Aon Consulting’s National Compensation Practice. He also has served as a principal and senior executive compensation consultant with Mercer Human Resources Consulting and as a benefits consultant at Towers Perrin.
