Margaret Pederson
President

Margaret Pederson is a CEO and board director who helps companies add value via new products, technologies, services, and market growth. She drives growth organically and via business development (acquisitions, joint venture, alliances, etc.) on a global scale and works with management to revitalize existing businesses, reposition mature ones, and build new ones. Pederson is recognized as a global thought leader on strategy and innovation in the boardroom, frequently speaking and writing on this topic. She has expertise in finding new ways to attack problems, identify opportunities, create new products and services, work with disruptive technologies, improve processes for efficiency and lower risk, and apply the latest marketing techniques. She also has a proven track record of accelerating revenue and profit growth in B2B and B2C businesses.

Pederson has served on several public and private company boards, including Viad (director), Xamax Industries (director and vice chair), and TextureMedia Inc. (director). She has also served as chair or member of many Compensation, Nominating and Governance, Innovation and Marketing, and Strategy Committees. Pederson currently serves as president and CEO the NACD Connecticut Chapter. She has also been selected as a Director to Watch by Directors & Boards magazine. Pederson has an advanced degree from Harvard Business School.


Colleen Baldwin
Program Chair

Colleen Baldwin has over 30 years' experience in global growth initiatives and business management. As an independent board director, she has significant background in corporate governance, executive compensation and performance metrics, and audit, as well as in-depth regulatory knowledge in insurance, banking, investment management, and healthcare. As a seasoned COO, Baldwin has managed global operations and technology, marketing and sales, product development, finance and accounting, legal and compliance, risk management, and human resources. She is currently an independent board director for VOYA Mutual Funds, where she is chairman of the Equities Investment Review Committee, a member of the Audit Committee, and former chair of the Nominating and Governance Committee. Baldwin is also an independent board director for Dentaquest, the second largest dental healthcare plan provider and administrator in the United States. She is chairman of the Audit Committee and member of the Mergers and Acquisitions Committee and the Finance and Investment Review Committee.

As the former COO for Ivy Asset Management, a $15 billion hedge fund of funds group, Baldwin's responsibilities included growth of a structured products group, as well as management of all global infrastructure groups. She was also the COO of AIG Global Investment Group from 1994 through 2001, where she managed global marketing and distribution and product development, as well as all infrastructure groups globally. During her tenure, assets under management grew from $62 billion to over $400 billion. Prior to AIG Global Investment Group, Baldwin was a senior managing director at JPMorgan, with management responsibilities in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and global trading and derivative support. She began her career at AT&T Bell Labs as a computer programmer.

Baldwin has a BS in Accounting and Quantitative Methods from Fordham University and also has an MBA in Finance and Computer Science. She is a dual citizen of Ireland and the United States.

Donald Dobbs
Secretary

Donald Dobbs is a retired director and executive vice president of Lane Industries Incorporated/Lane Construction Corporation, a 125-year-old family-owned business specializing in heavy and highway construction in both the United States and internationally, with annual revenues exceeding $2.0 billion. He retired in 2017 after a more than 43-year career with company. Although his formal education was that of a civil and environmental engineer as a graduate from Clarkson University in upstate New York, his tenure with Lane Industries exposed him to all aspects of the business. Dobbs' final leadership role with the corporation was that of executive vice president of Administration. His versatile exposure and understanding of the business led to his election to the Board of Directors of Lane Industries and related subsidiaries in 2005, a position he held until the merger/sale of the corporation in 2016.

During his tenure as a director of Lane Industries, Dobbs' was instrumental in the growth and transition of the board from a family legacy board to that of a fully functioning state-of-the-art board, complete with independent directors and functioning board committees, essentially in line with SOX requirements for publicly traded corporations. He also served on the Audit Committee and Compensation Committee and helped develop the Governance Committee.

One unique aspect of Dobbs' board service was the development and implementation of a board sanctioned Family Communications Committee, designed to better promote two-way transfer of information between the board/management and the family shareholders. He served as chairman of that committee until the 2016 sale/merger of the corporation with Salini Impregilo s.P.a., in Milan, Italy, a global civil construction leader. The Family Communications Committee's actions were critical to the shareholder understanding of and final consent to Lane Industries' sale, which achieved a premium value for its shareholders.

Dobbs currently serves on the Board of the NACD Connecticut Chapter, as well as locally on nonprofit boards for the Southington-Cheshire YMCA, the Town of Cheshire Economic Development Committee, Cheshire Chamber of Commerce, and the Family Business Roundtable Group, an adjunct group originally started by the NACD Connecticut Chapter.

Dobbs studied Management at Northwestern University and holds a BA from the Saint Vincent College.


Robert Mannarino
Marketing Chair

Robert Mannarino is a board director and CEO who has been leading and growing public and private technology and BPO firms for over 20 years after developing his management style and operating acumen at Intel, GE, Citigroup, and ADP and with private equity firms. He is known for his strategic insight, leadership, and entrepreneurial ability to create value. He draws upon diverse experience with technology and BPO firms where he has served as board chairman/director, CEO, president, and COO.

Mannarino gained his C-level operating experience at CDI and ICT Group. As the COO of CDI (NYSE: CDI), a $1.5 billion public technology, engineering, professional services, and staffing business, he was responsible for all portfolio companies. He also served as a board member for Management Recruiters International (MRI), CDI Marine, Anders Elite, Todays Staffing, and Modern Engineering, where he had extensive board interaction. Mannarino was president of ICT Group (NASDAQ: ICTG), a $300 million public CRM services company, where he grew revenues 50% while managing through significant regulatory changes and business disruptions. He has also held senior positions at Citibank and ADP where he created innovative lines of business and products. He gained his core technology foundation designing software at GE and as a product manager at Intel.

For seven years, Mannarino served as independent board director and chaired the Compensation Committee and served on the Audit Committee of Emtec, a public IT company, and then took the company private in a "going dark" transaction. He has led technology and BPO companies in diverse verticals, including government, infrastructure, financial services, human capital management, healthcare services, and customer care. Mannarino led the sale of the Security/APL to Checkfree for over 14x EBITDA, executed a turnaround and sold a benefits administration outsourcing firm, and helped restructure and sell a healthcare claims processing company for 14x projected EBITDA. He has served as a board advisor for Clearview Capital since 2012, as a board member for their CRM services company The Results Companies, and as interim CEO for their technology firm GCR Inc. Both companies were sold at outstanding multiples.

Mannarino is chairman of OKS Group, a multinational BPO firm providing global legal research, legal process outsourcing, information, e-learning, brand protection, publishing, and medical transcription services. He is on the board of Secure Cloud Services Corp., a game-changing cybersecurity firm. He is also a frequent speaker on cybersecurity, data/analytics, and digital transformation and has spoken at NACD Connecticut where he is an active board member and Board Leadership Fellow.

Mannarino is a graduate of Chicago Booth with an MBA, Beta Gamma Sigma in Finance and Marketing (top 10% of his class). He holds a BS in Computer Science magna cum laude from Union College. He is accredited in Cybersecurity Governance from CERT at Carnegie Mellon and is a contributor to the NACD Private Company Governance report.


Michael Lorelli
Director

Mike Lorelli is an experienced CEO, independent director, and an operating partner. He served as PepsiCo president twice and has led four private equity engagements as CEO. Lorelli is an NACD Leadership Fellow and has served as independent director on three public and seven private equity boards. He presently serves as an outside director on the boards of iControl, CP Kelco, Rita's Italian Ices, and KPI Soft.

Lorelli holds an MBA from NYU's Stern School of Business and a Bachelor of Engineering, also from New York University.


Julian Markby
Director

Julian Markby is an experienced independent director and financial expert serving on private and public company boards in a variety of industries. He currently serves as chairman of the Audit Committee on the boards of Momentive Performance Materials, Siguler Guff Small Business Credit Opportunities Fund Inc., and Thiele Kaolin Company, and he represents JPMorgan Chase's investment at Ligado Networks (formerly LightSquared) where he serves as a board observer and holds their voting proxy. Markby also serves on the board of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) Connecticut Chapter. Previously, he served on the boards of Altegrity, TwentyEighty, SP Fiber Holdings (chairman), and NewPage Corporation.

Markby spent more than 25 years in the investment banking industry as an advisor and financier at firms including Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, Wasserstein Perella, PaineWebber, and Drexel Burnham Lambert. He has advised clients in numerous acquisitions, corporate sales, divestitures, and capital raising transactions in the public and private markets and has significant experience in other complex merger and restructuring transactions.

Markby received his MBA from Columbia Business School in 1980.


Denise Nappier
Director

Denise Lynn Nappier is the first African-American woman elected to serve as a State Treasurer in the United States and the first African-American woman elected to a statewide office in Connecticut. Elected in 1998 and reelected in 2002, 2006, 2010, and 2014, Nappier is also the only woman to be elected treasurer in Connecticut history.

As Connecticut's chief elected financial officer, Nappier oversees $63 billion in state funds. Her high standards and financial expertise have brought integrity back to the Treasurer's Office and professionalism to the management of state resources. The Treasury's Short-Term Investment Fund has been rated as one of the nation's best government investment pools, and the fund's superior performance has earned the state and local governments and their taxpayers an additional $208 million during the Nappier Administration.

Nappier's innovative and resourceful leadership has saved Connecticut citizens and businesses hundreds of millions of dollars, and the asset recovery and loss prevention program she established has recovered more than $1 billion. The Nappier Administration has an unsurpassed commitment to invest in Connecticut's citizens and businesses and an exceptional track-record of doing business with Connecticut-based firms, women- and minority-owned firms, and the next generation of entrepreneurs and professionals in the financial services industry.

In 2006, Nappier initiated and successfully led efforts to establish a new tax deduction for Connecticut families who contribute to CHET college savings accounts in order to encourage Connecticut residents to save for higher education. Under her administration, the CHET program, which has grown from $18.5 million in assets in 1999 to more than $3 billion today, has become one of the nation's most accessible and affordable college savings programs. The Hartford native previously served as Hartford City treasurer for nearly 10 years and as executive director of Hartford's Riverfront Recapture.

Nappier was twice named as one of the nation's 100 Most Influential People in Finance by Treasury & Risk Management magazine and one of the 50 Most Powerful Black Women in Business by Black Enterprise. In 2015, she received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Women in Public Finance, and in 2011, she received the first "Freda Johnson Award" from The Bond Buyer for being a woman trailblazer in public finance. In October 2011, she was inducted into the Connecticut Women's Hall of Fame. Nappier has also received the Corporate Responsibility Leadership Award from Citizens for Economic Opportunity, the National Association of Investment Companies' Pacesetter Award, and the Good Housekeeping magazine Award for Women in Government in recognition of her advocacy of responsible corporate behavior and high ethical standards. In 2008, Nappier received the prestigious "Legend Award" from Plan Sponsor magazine. She is the 2004 Woman of Merit honoree and the 1999 recipient of the Dollars and Sense Badge from the Connecticut Valley Girl Scout Council.

Nappier holds a BA from Virginia State University and a master's degree from the University of Cincinnati. She also holds honorary degrees from Teikyo Post University, Trinity College, Briarwood College, University of Hartford, and Saint Joseph College.


Mark Rossi
Director

Mark S. Rossi serves as a senior managing director and a founding principal of Cornerstone Equity Investors LLC. His industry focus is on specialty manufacturing and business services. He was a founder of Prudential Equity Investors in 1984 and held various positions with the firm, including president from 1994 to 1996 and senior vice president from 1984 to 1994. He also has extensive investment experience with technology-based companies.

Rossi currently serves as chairman of the board at Intelomed Inc. and Nuance Document Imaging Inc. and as director at Celestica Asia Inc., StorMedia Inc., Geotrace Technologies Inc., ArrayComm LLC, Accolade Inc., Automata Inc., Nest Entertainment Inc., Cardtronics plc, Centurion Wireless Technologies Inc., True Temper Sports Inc., and MCMS Inc. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of AFS USA, the Inner City Scholarship Fund of the Archdiocese of New York, and Saint Vincent College. Rossi previously served as the chairman of the board and director at Maxwell Technologies Inc., chairman and director of Novatel Wireless Inc., and chairman of Equitrac.

Rossi holds an MBA in Finance from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a BA from the Saint Vincent College.
